Description

In his work, Mirza explores the possibility of the visual and the acoustic as one singular aesthetic form. Fader, references the fader on an audio mixer, evoking a suggestion of sound without there being any. The light which fades over the course of several hours makes the work time-based, an event rather than a static object and more akin to a video than a painting. The black ash support for the piece is the standard dimensions for hi-fi equipment from the 70s - 90s and is also the most common material used for the manufacture of hi-fi’s during that period.
